Nexcess Introduces Extended Backup Plans for Enterprise Hosting Clients

Southfield, MI – Nexcess, a leading provider of enterprise WordPress, Magento, ExpressionEngine, and vBulletin hosting, has introduced a new tier of extended backup plans that will ensure client data is kept safe and secure over the long term.

Nexcess’ new extended backup plans offer dedicated server and enterprise server cluster clients a comprehensive backup solution. Enterprise clients can now opt for both ninety-day and one-year data retention plans. The ninety-day backup plan will keep daily backups of server data. With the extended one-year plan, Nexcess will keep ninety days of daily backups and one year of monthly snapshots, enabling clients to restore and access data from a much longer time-frame than was previously possible.

“Long-term data retention and availability are essential aspects of both security and business continuity management,” commented Chris Wells, President and CEO of Nexcess, “Clients need to know that their site or eCommerce store’s data is safe and accessible over the long term. Our extended backup plans make it easier to maintain a reliable backup, and, because we’re managing and hosting the backups, the increased safety doesn’t involve increased complexity or unnecessary integration with external services.”

Data loss is a nightmare scenario for companies that depend on their web presence for revenue. In many cases, a site or eCommerce store is the business, and without long term backups there is little standing between current success and future disaster.

Backups aren’t just a hedge against infrastructure failure or human error; they’re essential for security. Advanced persistent security threats are becoming common, with attackers seeking to hide their presence on a server for many months. It’s vital that online businesses have clean backups for at least three months and, optimally, for even longer. In the event of a security breach, recent backups may be tainted with malware, necessitating a long-term backup strategy to ensure data continuity.

Nexcess’ new backup tiers are the most recent addition to the company’s high-performance hosting plans, which are used by some of the largest publishers and eCommerce retailers. The company’s SIP servers and server clusters are tailored to provide the best possible hosting environment for each application. As a global hosting company, Nexcess will offer extended backups from all of its facilities in the US, Europe, and the Asia Pacific region.
